Methodology
The aim of JVM is to make learning an enjoyable, fun filled, invigorating process for the students with the help of audio visual CDs, Projects, Educational trips and extensive use of models/charts in Mathematics and Science labs. The Montessori and Play way methods are used in the Nursery and Kindergarten classes.
Different pedagogical methods are:
1. Lecturing : This long-standing method can be adapted to large or small class settings, and the faculty members deliver effective lectures in different courses to accomplish the course learning outcomes.
2. Discussions : Leading discussions can be a useful way to engage students and examine /explore new ideas. Faculty members motivate the students to engage in discussion / case study related discussion to find optimal solution to real world / simulated problems or challenges
3. Inquiry-Based Learning : Understanding the phases and overall process of disciplined inquiry can help faculty members and students in the pursuit of shared discovery and innovative research.
4. Active Learning : A wide variety of approaches characterize this departure from static modes of course delivery.
5. Team Projects : The use of structured teams can accomplish a wide-range of goals, both inside and out of the classroom. Team projects enable the students to learn about concepts apart from learning team skills.
6. Case based Learning : The students get learning of various alternative strategies to solve a real world problem in a case based learning. The faculty members leverage it by teaching the students with diverse variety of cases. .
7. Story-based Teaching : Story based Teaching is a modern approach wherein the faculty members tell stories to impart concepts and skills by telling innovative stories. .
8. Blended Learning : Blended learning approach is being used with an optimal blend of online and offline approach to maximize the overall effectiveness of teaching, learning and assessment.
9. Brainstorming : Brainstorming is a modern approach to invite multiple thoughts, views and ideas from the participants to look for innovative solution to a real life problem. .
